If you talk with Japanese, it is polite to address him or her by using his name; for example 'Takako san', 'Hirasawa san' and many more. The word 'さん' (san) at the end of a name can be translated as Mr. or Mrs. and 'さん' also not represent gender. Sometimes, you also can hear other addresses like 'kun' (くん) and 'chan' (ちゃん) which kun is used for young boy and chan used for cute person or cute things.
